ICI’s Director of K-12 Education, Terry Fielden, received exciting news in early March; the Illinois Association of School Business Officials (IASBO) selected him as one of two candidates to serve on the Service Associate Advisory Committee (SAAC) beginning in July. SAAC Chair Audra Scharf recommended Terry to the Illinois ASBO Board of Directors at their last meeting and will present them again at the Service Associate Annual Business Meeting on May 5, 2016 for approval.
The role of the Service Associate Advisory Committee (SAAC) is to help maintain relationships and trust between the IASBO Members and the various vendor organizations that participate within IASBO.
To be considered for the position, Terry had to concretely display a commitment and understanding of the values and ethics related to being a Service Associate for IASBO. Terry also has given freely of his time to develop and participate in various educational presentations designed to assist Business Managers.
Terry has worked in the education construction environment for his entire career. When asked why this new role is important to him, Terry replied “Service on the SAAC is one way of returning the benefits and lessons that I have learned throughout my career. My goal ultimately is simple; to help in enhancing the education environment for children.”
